The rush is on . . . With the AC40 preliminaries done and dusted, the teams are finishing their Cup bases and trucking in the new iterations of their ‘old’ AC75s.

France were the first to hit the water, and even the much debated-about GB1 boat has arrived safe and sound, with an on water target before the end of the year.

Tudor Team Alinghi’s Director Michel Hodara walks through the boat shed, sail loft and team facilities, explaining how the layout serves both the boat and the people working around it.

The tour also reveals why the base is designed to be dismantled and rebuilt, before looking out across the neighbouring team bases and the Bagnoli waterfront.

 
First race date for the AC teams is the qualification event, the Louis Vuitton Cup Challenger Selection Series, which begins 22 May 2027. The actual 38th America’s Cup Match begins over the weekend of the 10-11 July 2027.
