San Pedro Olympic Classes Regatta – Day 2 for 49er, 49erFX and Nacra 17

Three more races completed for the 49er, 49erFX and the Nacra 17, at the San Pedro, USA Olympic Classes Regatta.

In the men’s 49er after six races, Richard SCHULTHEIS and Fabian RIEGER (6, 3, 8) of Germany are tied for the lead on 23 pts with Harry PRICE and Max PAUL (5, 4, -12) of Australia.

In third place are Erwan FISCHER / Clément PÉQUIN of France with 27 pts. Britain’s James GRUMMETT and Rhos HAWES (8, -18, 5) are 7th with 37 pts.

Winners of the Tuesdays first race were Jakob MEGGENDORFER and Andreas SPRANGER of Germany, winner of the second Erwan FISCHER and Clément PÉQUIN, and of the third race Hernán UMPIERRE and Fernando DIZ of Uruguay.

In the women’s 49erFX after six races. Antonia and Georgia LEWIN-LAFRANCE (3, 4, 2) of Canada keep their lead with 12 pts. Second are Saskia TIDEY and Freya BLACK (2, -7, 5) on 15 pts, and third Ebba BERNTSSON and Vilma BOBECK of Sweden with 21 pts.

Winners of the days first FX race were Paris HENKEN and Helena SCUTT USA, the second went to Ebba BERNTSSON and Vilma BOBECK, and the final race to Odile LAMBRIEX VAN AANHOLT and Karlinde VAN ARENDONK of the Netherlands.

In the mixed Nacra 17, Tim MOURNIAC and Aloise RETORNAZ (4, 2, -7) of France lead with 12 pts. Up into second are Brin LIDDELL and Rhiannan BROWN (2, 3, 2) of Australia with 13 pts.

Emil JÄRUDD and Hanna JONSSON (1, 5, 6) hold onto third place tied on 18 pts with Britain’s John GIMSON and Anna BURNET who had a UFD in the first race, then recovered with a 4, 1.
